Episode #124: Kurt Thomas’ legacy continues on through his gym, his gymnasts, his family, and his foundation. In this episode of Hustle and Pro, we talk with Beckie Thomas about her husband’s epic gymnastics career and larger-than-life persona.
We talk about Beckie’s background in dance, Kurt’s outstanding career, how she and Kurt met, the gym culture they built together and the difficult pain of losing Kurt in 2020.
This episode is personal to me. It hits home in many ways. Gymnastics was my first sport. It was my family’s business. It was my life as a young gymnast. It created my icons and shaped my body and work ethic. I understand Beckie’s loss, but from a different perspective entirely.
I hope you’ll listen and enjoy the story of Beckie and Kurt Thomas.

What an incredible episode! As a gymnast mom who loves Kurt Thomas Gymnastics, this episode gives a little peek into why we are so dedicated. Beckie’s heart and soul and Kurt’s spirit make this more than a gym, but a family. Thank you for sharing this episode. What a beautiful story and legacy!

As I sit here in tears trying to pull myself together enough to say what a wonderful podcast. I enjoyed listening to Beckie talk about Kurt and their life together. We were blessed to have been a part of the Kurt Thomas Gymnastics family for four years. I was able to see first hand the bond that Beckie and Kurt had. It was and still is a love affair and fairy-tale relationship. One that is a wonderful example of what a marriage should be. I so enjoyed listening to Beckie talk about their early life together honestly it was great to hear Beckie’s voice again. Kurt truly was one of a kind and had a personality that was bigger than life. I am very grateful for the time that my daughter spent at the gym. She did more than become a better gymnast at KT, she learned discipline and character that has followed her long after her gymnastics career came to a close and she moved on to high school cheer and then a collegiate athlete in Acrobatics and Tumbling. Now she is taking that to the next level as an Assistant Coach in Acrobatics and Tumbling. You and Kurt had a big part in who she is today. Thank you Beckie for sharing your story and your personal struggle after the sudden loss of Kurt. My prayers are with you and your family.

My goodness!!! What an absolutely incredible episode. My daughter began her love for gymnastics at 6 at Kurt Thomas. She is now 13 and her love for the sport continues to grow daily. This is, without a doubt, all because of the amazing staff and the strong foundation that Kurt and Beckie built. I count my blessings everyday that we stumbled upon this gym so many years ago. I know that Kurt is smiling big from up above!!
