This FC Dallas season was all of ups and downs, excitement, big name gets, and lots of movement on the roster. Writing this as the final whistle on the season blew last night, it was bitter sweet. We saw one of the best efforts from the team, and one of the most dramatic endings with a penalty shootout miss.

Carrera leaves the FC Dallas organization as one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in North Texas SC history. He appeared in 43 matches for the club, the most by a goalkeeper, and holds the all-time records for shutouts (9) and saves (170). He also played a key role in North Texas SC’s 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Cup championship.

Defender Marco Farfan permanent transfer to Tigres UANL of Liga MX
Farfan made 121 appearances for FC Dallas over three and a half seasons, recording three goals and eight assists. He reached his 100th regular-season appearance with the club in a 4-2 win at Sporting Kansas City on June 14, 2025. At the time of his transfer, he was the fourth-longest tenured player on the roster.

Midfielder Luciano Acosta Permenant Transfer to Brazilian side Fluminense FC
Luciano “Lucho” Acosta to Fluminense FC of Brazil’s Série A. Per team policy, terms of the deal will remain undisclosed. Acosta signed with FC Dallas on Feb. 12, 2025, and debuted with the club in Dallas’ 2-1 Texas Derby win versus the Houston Dynamo FC. At the time of Acosta’s arrival, the 2023 Landon Donovan MLS Most Valuable Player marked the largest cash-for-player trade in Major League Soccer history.
