Dallas Open Diaries: My Love for the Game

Episode 202: When I say this tennis tournament drew me in, I mean I stopped by for the first session and ended up going back 7 more time over the 9 days. The talent, the crowd, the venue – all of it was top notch, and all right here literally in view from my neighborhood in Frisco, TX.

This episode is like a diary of the lead up to this tournament, how it even came to be played in Frisco at Ford Center at The Star, snapshots and footage from the tournament, and my two cents on how entertaining it was. Oh, and there’s a time lapse – who doesn’t love a time lapse of a sports venue changeover?

I played tennis in 9th grade, mostly because I had just changed schools and my sports tryouts had already happened and the tennis coach recruited me from necessity. I learned a lot playing varsity that one year but I learned so much last week watching 9 days of world ranked tennis players up close and personal. I am so lucky to live in a market that attracts top notch sports events. It’s no accident – I know first hand the teams that put these things in motion and now much goes into it.
